A. Brief Descriptions：

1. Cause: alcoholic , obesity , non-alcoholic steatohepatitis….

2. Abnormal accumulation of neutral triglyceride (fat) in hepatocytes , when severe may impair cellular function.

B. Gross Findings：

1. Mild fatty change: no gross change.

2. Progressive change: enlarges and getting yellow.

3. Severe: enlarge，pale or bright yellow，soft，greasy and may even weigh 3~6 kg.

C. Micro Findings：

1.  Many small globular intracytoplasmic clear space, may accumulate and displace the nucleus to the periphery.

2. Contiguous cells may rupture to produce fatty cyst.

D. Others:

1. 病理組織重點:

   • Fat vacuoles in the cytoplasm around the nucleus.

   • 特殊染色: prepare by frozen section and stained by Sudan III or Sudan black.
