A. Brief Descriptions:
Schistosoma masoni, S. japonicum, S. mekongi, & S. inter-calatum.
Mature in the portal venous system causing hepatosplenic schistosomiasis with periportal fibrosis and portal hypertension.

C. Micro Findings:
Ova entrapped in portal veins of about 50 um diameter, early with eosinophilic abscess, while the eggs are coated with a rim of fibrinoid material (Hoeppli-Splendore reaction), then an epithelioid granuloma with central necrosis, remaining ova then calcified.
Worm pairs in portal venous system resulting hemozoin pigments & Symmer's clay pipestem fibrosis.
