《Slide 84.》Fibroadenoma, Breast
A. Brief Descriptions:
Most common benign tumor of the female breast.
Frequently multiple and bilateral and occur in the upper outer quadrant.
A new growth compose of both fibrous and glandular tissue.
B. Gross Findings:
1. Grow as a spherical nodule which is usually well-circumscribed and freely movable.
2. Vary in size from less than 1 cm to giant forms 10 to 15 cm in diameter.
C. Micro Findings:
A well circumscribed nodule with fibrous capsule.
Proliferation of both duct and periductal connective tissue.
Connective tissue: fibromyxomatous stroma
Duct: 2 growth pattern:
Pericanalicular pattern: round or oval duct.
Intracanalicular pattern: slit-like duct.
D. Others:
