《Slide 127.》Chronic glomerulonephritis, Kidney
A. Brief Descriptions:
Chronic glomerulonephritis is best considered an end-stage pool of glomerular disease fed by a number of streams of specific types of glomerulonephritis
Poststreptococcal GN, rapidly progressive GN, membranous GN, focal glomerulosclerosis, membranoproliferative GN, …etc. à chronic GN.
B. Gross Findings:
Small, firm kidney with granular subcapsular surface & narrowed cortex.
C. Micro Findings:
Changes varying greatly, the following may be found:
Glomeruli:
Reduced number
Small, solid tuft, some with cellular proliferation & adhesion of tuft & capsule, or crescent formation.
Tubules:
Loss, atrophy, or dilatation, some with infection.
D. Others:
略.
