A. Brief Descriptions

  1. Formerly known as granular cell myeloblastoma or granular cell schwannoma.

  2. Benign lesion of probable Schwann cell origin.

  3. Young or middle aged adult, female predominant.

B. Gross Findings 

  1. Solitary dermal or subcutaneous nodules.

C. Micro Findings

  1. Ill-defined mass composed of a diffuse sheet of large, pale eosinophilic polygonal cells with granular cytoplasm and a small, central nucleus.

  2. Hyperkeratosis of overlying mucosa.
