A. Brief Descriptions

    1. Sunlight, lightly pigmented, preexisting nevus.

    2. Enlargement, itching or pain, a new lesion, irregular border, variegation of color.

    3. Radial and vertical growth.

B. Gross Findings

  1. Pruritic, variegated, irregular, maculopapular lesions

C. Micro Findings

  1. Melanoma cells are larger than nevus cells with irregular nuclei and prominent eosinophilic nucleoli.

  2. They grow as loose nests lacking the typical features of maturation
